Freewheelers Monthly Improv open Showcase in Birmingham

Freewheelers is a monthly free comedy improv showcase in Birmingham UK, open to local and visiting performers. A chance for groups, pairs or solo performers to try out new games or material, with a supportive audience, the atmosphere will be informal and the work sometimes experimental.

Where? When?
Upstairs at Cherry Reds Cafe-Bar, John Bright st., Birmingham, B1 1BN

The first Wednesday of each month, starts promptly at 7:30pm and ends by 10pm. We sometimes have an improv musician on keyboard for songs or background music.

How to appear?
Performers book a slot by emailing Lee at: [email protected] with a description of your content and the time you require (10 to 60 mins) and turn up by 7pm (preferably bringing 2 or more audience members along. Now running when enough people have been in touch and demand is high.

Free to audiences however we must buy drinks to use the room and a collection bucket will be passed around afterwards for admin costs and charity.

Who can join in?
Open to any Improv performers seeking to show and try out new ideas, network and support others. No payment to performers sadly but a share of the collection for expenses. Please feel free to offer support especially as regards ensuring an audience.

Most recently we hosted Rhymes against humanity from Nottingham.
